Rear Floor and Seat Pans

I was able to get to the replacement left floor pan yesterday. As with before, I opt’d not to squeeze it down in the hole and then try to dig it out to dimple and debur. So as with the right pan, I drilled, deburred and dimpled prior to installation. I was then able to get it riveted into place with no problem.

It was then onto the rear passenger seat pan area. These had to be left undone so that the rivets at the rear of the seat pan could be bucked. But now these areas could be closed up. The RG400 Antenna cable has already be run to the areas and hopefully I won’t need access back in here again (ever). The pans were primarily set with non-countersunk blind rivets (LP4-3). The perimeter near the tunnel and the front of the seat were set with AN426-4-4 rivets. I still need to set the nutplates along these edges too.

I also was able to get in and out of the plane alot easier now that the front brace is on the firewall to prevent tipping. This area is riveted enough that people can now sit in the back of the plane and play pretend.
